Privacy note
Last updated 27 October 2026.
This note covers booking a call through Start a project and the optional pre-meeting brief. DashStar's privacy commitments are on its own site, dashstar.moatsafety.com.
Who is responsible
MOAT Safety, a Texas sole-proprietorship DBA of James Isaac Kay. Contact: hello@moatsafety.com.
Booking a call
The Book a call button takes you to a booking page run by Cal.com. When you book, you give your name, email address and phone number, and you can add your organization, your industry and what you would like to talk about.
- Cal.com holds your booking and your answers to its questions, under its own privacy policy.
- Google Calendar on James's account holds the calendar event, which includes your name, email address, the time, and your answers.
- The video meeting service named in your invite (usually Microsoft Teams) runs the call under its own privacy policy.
- Stripe processes the card payment when you book a paid working session, under its own privacy policy. MOAT Safety never sees your full card number.
- Email: the invite, reminders and any replies pass through Cal.com, Google and James's inbox.
The pre-meeting brief
The brief is built in your browser. This site does not store it and does not send it anywhere. It exists only in your browser tab until you copy it, download it or email it. If you email it to MOAT Safety, it then lives in James's inbox like any other email.
This website
The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or trackers. Cloudflare, which hosts the site and forwards email for moatsafety.com, receives your IP address when your browser connects and handles it under its own privacy policy. Links to LinkedIn and Cal.com take you to those services, which have their own policies.
Why
Only to hold the call you booked, take payment if it is a paid session, prepare for it and, if you go ahead, to scope the work. Your details are never sold, never added to a mailing list, and never shared beyond the services named here.
How long it is kept
- If you do not end up working with MOAT Safety, James deletes your booking, calendar event and emails within 12 months of your last contact.
- Payment records for paid sessions are the exception. They are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
- If you do, they become part of the project record and are kept for as long as that record is needed.
- Copies the services above keep for their own purposes, such as backups, follow their own retention rules.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete what MOAT Safety holds about you at any time. Email hello@moatsafety.com from the address you booked with, and James will confirm once it is done.
Prefer not to use the booking page? Email the same address with a few times that suit you. Your message then lives only in that mailbox.
